Matawan Day Street Festival 2022

After a three-week postponement from its original October date, Matawan Day Street Festival 2022 arrived on October 22nd to a spectacular fall day.
Blue skies, unseasonably mild temperatures, and a soft breeze enticed a record-breaking crowd to descend upon Main Street Matawan to visit the record number of vendors that lined a quarter mile of the street.  This year’s list of vendors offered a diverse array of handcrafted items, retail, professional services, non-profit organizations, and food than ever before.  The Entertainment Arena, the newly added Kidz Corral activity center, Pumpkin Patch, Bandstand, Inflatables, displayed firetrucks, beer and wine garden and Burrowes Mansion Museum tours gave visitors so much to consider while walking through the festival.

Much of the excitement and fun of the day was captured by the photographer and videographers from the Gotham Trinity Productions team that ran the first-ever Matawan Day Street Festival live broadcast. Two hosts spent time showcasing highlights like the food-eating contests, and vendor items, and interviewing sponsors and special guests throughout the day.

We can’t thank enough the many volunteers that served on this year’s Matawan Day Street Festival Committee and the friends and residents that chipped in for the day.
We also have to thank the Borough of Matawan Department of Public Works crew that was out before anyone setting up a list of items needed for the day, the Matawan Police and Fire Departments, Bayshore EMS, and those that let us have access to WIFI, electricity, and space for the day.  Special thank you to The Geekery who allowed us to turn their store into the volunteer headquarters during the festival.

The Matawan Day Street Festival 2022 would not have been possible without the support and generosity of our sponsors. Their support made it possible for us to expand the offerings for kids, the signage, zone flags, music, contests, and the shuttle this year.  Thank you as well, to the vendors that made the decision to participate in Matawan Day, and hope that day exceeded your expectations. Thank you to the Matawan business community and the Main Street and Broad Street residents for their patience with road closures and detoured traffic. Finally, we thank everyone who took the time to share their thoughts, comments, and insights about the day with us. We appreciate all the feedback.
