Community the Theme for Annual Installation & Celebration of Business Awards Dinner

Community! That was the theme that best described our event held on Tuesday, June 6th at MJ’s Buttonwood Manor. Chamber members met, mingled and sat with various representatives of both Aberdeen and Matawan town councils including the mayors, Fred Tagliarini and Joe Altomonte, representatives from many local organizations including the Woman’s Club of Matawan, Matawan Historical Society, Right Your Life, and business people from in and around our towns and neighboring communities.
With more than 70 people in attendance, it was nice to see such support for the chamber, its board, members, award recipients and business
leaders during the night.

We all celebrated not only the installation of members to the Board of Directors for new terms of service but also those members that went above and beyond to help share knowledge, talents, and advice throughout the year.  The recognition was capped off with the presentation of three unique awards to the individual recipients; Theresa “Tracy” Gibson for Chamber Member of the Year, Kearny Bank – Matawan/Old Bridge Branch for Distinguished Member, and the Matawan Historical Society for Excellence in Public Service.
Cliff Moore, our guest speaker, gave us an enthusiastic and well well-received address about the key ingredients that lead to a healthy, strong economic vibrancy in a town; collaboration and communication between the town officials and the local businesses and to residents. It was a wonderful feature to the night and our celebration of all of us as a community.

Special thanks to MJ’s Buttonwood Manor for providing a great venue with great service and wonderful food for the event.
Thanks to Linda Martin, office admin for our chamber, who went above and beyond in helping see that all went smoothly for our event.

Thank you to all who attended.  Your presence made the night all the more memorable!
