A Few Thousand Come to Celebrate Matawan Day and Fall Festival 2018!

With rain and overcast skies dominating the morning even the most optimistic person had to have doubts that the weather would break in time for Matawan Day 2018 to begin.  It took a few hours but as the team of organizers, vendors and food trucks all arrived,  the clouds and rain eventually rolled away to reveal a crisp and bright fall day.
Matawan Day 2018 was off and running!  Our MC, Adam Saber, Adam Saber Event Entertainment commenced with the day introducing a line up of several performers; dance groups, singers and even stage performers all of whom provided a variety of song and dance numbers that were well received by the many visitors to this annual street festival.

From Center Ave down to Steamboat Alley, the festival stretched down Main Street hosting over 150 vendors promoting services, products and selling unique crafts and goods from homemade bows, hairbands, and honey to handmade children’s masks, jewelry, paintings, and photography. Food vendors provided a smorgasbord of items that met a variety of appetites.   Bounce houses, local bands and specialty star cars such as the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine all rounded out the day.

Matawan Day and Fall Festival 2018 was a grand day in which a few thousand people came to share in the celebration of the local talents of its residents and to support the local crafters, artisans, and businesses that help define the Matawan community.  We are grateful to the businesses and organizations that sponsored the day and to the many people involved in organizing the day.  Thank you to the Matawan DPW, Matawan Police Department, Bayshore EMS, CERT, and the members of the Matawan Day committee and those that helped us during the day.
Here are some pictures that help capture the day.

  1. Hi. I play for a local Veterans band called LZJRZ and was wondering if you are looking for bands to play this event? Please let me know! Thanks! 🙂 John
