Matawan Day 2017

Skies Brighten for Matawan Day and Fall Festival 2017!

If the rainy morning had cast any doubts that Matawan Day and Fall Festival 2017 was going to be anything but a success, those doubts faded by the time the festival officially opened at 12 noon!
The grey, dank sky disappeared behind an array of colorful canopies that lined up along Main Street as far as the eye could see. Vendor tables were set and ready to capture your attention with great merchandise, handcrafted items, games and many giveaways.  The entertainment provided us an opportunity to see some of the brightest talents in our area,  and as the scents from various food vendors began to infiltrate the air it lured many to their stands.
The energy was almost palpable by the time festival was in full swing. The arrival of such notable festival additions including the Halloween themed star cars – the Ghostbuster Ecto-1, Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine and the Munster’s coach and Dragula cars down by Burrowes Mansion and the appearance of Ronald McDonald who captured the attention of many as he paraded down Main Street with a group of kids in their Halloween costumes added to that level of energy.

We are grateful for all the vendors that chose to come to our event, to the sponsors that helped make it possible to provide free rides, music and entertainment, to the talented performers, the Matawan Police, Fire depts, the Bayshore EMT, CERT, chamber volunteers, the Borough of Matawan Rec Commission, the Borough of Matawan, the Dept of Public Works, and to the community of people that spent their day with us. Each of you contributed in making Matawan Day and Fall Festival 2017 a most memorable one!
